How I Prep my Skin for Shoots

How I prep my skin for shoots, events, TV etc!

I start by cleansing my skin with the Pure Skin Face Cleanser from First Aid Beauty. This has been the holy grail of face cleansers for me! It has super nourishing ingredients that don’t leave my skin tight or dry.

Once all the makeup, dirt, and surface oils are washed off I apply a clay mask. I love a clay mask to really get deep into the pores of my skin and dry out any blemishes or dark spots.  Two of my most recent go tos are the Indie Lee Clearing Mask and the  Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Mask

Then I usually do a peel off mask to make sure I get all that dead skin off, so my skin feels baby soft. Currently I’m loving the Lift Off Mask by Wander Beauty. It really rips off all that extra junk you don’t want on your face. When applying foundation you want to make sure your skin is as even toned as possible!

Now time for hydration, so I put on a sheet mask. I keep all my sheet masks in my fridge because I love them super cold on my skin. It’s so refreshing and really wakes me up. A few I’m currently loving are The Detoxifier Holographic Foil Sheet Mask from Bliss, the Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels from Skynn Iceland (LOVE this one because it comes in separate pieces), and the Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask from 111Skin.

Next it’s serum time! I love to lather on the serums so that my skin feels supple all night long. Currently I’ve been soaking my face and declotoge (don’t forget that everything you to to your face should also be done to your declotoge) in a mix of my two favorites (High Potency CBD Serum from Beboe Therapies and the T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum from Drunk Elephant.

Lastly, I moisturize! I’ve been switching it up nightly between the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer and the Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer from Drunk Elephant. Both super hydrating and not too heavy or greasy feeling.

This routine is definitely not needed for just everyday, but if you have a really big event, meeting, or date… I swear by this, and I even coined it the “Kissed by Kate”
