Proceed in Positivity

I’m a firm believer that staying positive in all walks of life is the key to maintaining a healthy self-esteem and feeling fulfilled. Plus, it’s WAY more fun to live life in positivity. I know, it’s easier said than done. Life can be stressful and unfair – there will be hardships (that’s a fact). But once you realize that your attitude can directly affect the way you perceive situations and can help get you through tough times, you won’t want to live life any other way.

Most of you won’t believe this, but I’m an introvert. An outgoing introvert, but an introvert nonetheless. I’ve always enjoyed spending time alone and look forward to my “me” time on a daily basis. That being said, I think people who lean more towards an introverted-type personality should be most aware of how positivity can change your outlook on life.

Being positive is a choice, and it’s one you should make. Even science proves that by being positive, you can live a longer, healthier life. You will feel better and have more energy (sometimes the mind is the reason we feel fatigued). But most importantly, being a positive person helps you realize that you are a valuable person and have a lot to offer the world.

It’s the beginning of a New Year and I want to spread the message to be kind to yourself. You are a total badass and can reach any of the goals you set. You can surpass those goals and reach even higher ones. We all have it within ourselves to do whatever we want with our lives, but I feel like people get so caught up in negativity and self-loathing. We should stop thinking so negatively about ourselves, why do we do that? We are all beautiful and unique with our own strengths and weaknesses – we each have our own paths to go down and illuminate.

This year, I think we should all make an effort to change the conversation we have with ourselves. Stop looking in the mirror and thinking you could do better. You are great and you will do great things. Honestly, I have those negative internal dialogues all the time. But I’m working on noticing when I speak to myself that way, and I’m making a conscious effort to stop those thoughts and change them so they are kind. You should do the same because we don’t have forever on this earth and self-love is important.

We all have this incredible light within our souls that we often recognize in others and not ourselves. It’s time we give ourselves acknowledgement for how beautiful we are, and how capable we are to do whatever we set our minds to. Positivity and beauty and start with how we perceive ourselves. Only then can we truly perceive the world in the same way. So please, please, be kind – and know that you are beautiful.
