Aspen Guide: Summer Edition

Aspen has always held such a special place in my heart . I grew up learning to ski, hiking the Highland Bowls, and spending my nights at Boogie’s Diner (while has since closed). I felt so lucky to have an excuse of a wedding to get back there, and this time with my love. I put together a list of my MUST GO TO’S below :)

Where to Stay

Hotel Jerome Aspen - Hotel Jerome has been the social hub of Aspen since its opening in 1889 at the height of the town’s silver boom, known as the place where all great stories were born and are told. The hotel truly has the authentic Colorado cowboy feel I crave as a New Yorker. I felt so lucky to have stayed there this summer with my boyfriend, as it’s the place I spent many of my Valentine’s Days as a child. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Airbnb – I always love staying at a great Airbnb spot when I don’t want to spend on a hotel. There are always fabulous apartments and condos available in Aspen.

Where to Eat

 Breakfast/Pastries:

Poppycocks Cafe - One of the best diners in Aspen. Make sure you get the buttermilk pancakes!

Paradise Bakery & Cafe - Baked goods & light bites such as soups & sandwiches are offered at this casual chain. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for!

Spring Café - Plant based cuisine. Tons of soups and delicious salads if you want a healthier experience.

 Lunch/Dinner:

French Alpine Bistro - Authentic french food in a very romantic setting. Best fondue I have ever had.

Woody Creek Tavern - Woody Creek Tavern is an eccentric dive Mexican spot in Woody Creek, several miles outside of Aspen, but so worth the drive/ or bike.

Ajax Tavern - Must go for the best burger and truffle fries with a view of the mountain like you’ve never seen before.

Cache Cache - Old school steakhouse with the most delicious escargots appetizer. Just look at that mouth watering picture above. Always great people watching!

What To Do - Summer Edition (obviously you are skiing all day in the winter)

Hike – Ute Trail (Hard), Smugglers Trail (Medium)

Bike – Rent bikes and go to Wood Creek Tavern for lunch. Have yourself a few margaritas and take a taxi van back.

Adventure – Take the bus to Maroon Bells (MUST bring your camera it’s one of the most gorgeous views I’ve ever seen in the US)

Where To Shop

The entire Aspen town is the best shopping ski town I have ever seen. You MUST check out the Kemo Sabe, BUT just to try on, they are much to pricy to take home.
