5 Fashion Hacks You Never Knew You Needed

My 5 Favorite Fashion Hacks You Never Knew You Needed

Band-Aids as nipple covers – I know this is the most obvious one, so I’m putting it up here first. I hate spending money on actual real nipple covers when Band-Aids are something I regularly keep in the house. For a quick fix use 2 Band-Aids (I personally love the Welly Band-Aids) in a cross over each nipple. The good thing about this is you know plasters are designed to go on your skin so the adhesive is safe. The padding will go over your nipple so the sticky bit of the plaster will be on the less sensitive part of your skin. I do this a lot when I’m shooting in a tank top and don’t want my bra to show.

The famous “Sweater Tuck” – This simple sweater hack might be the thing that has proved most mystifying. A viral tweet by Buzzfeed writer Sam Reece gave an insight into just how perplexed women are by the ultimate Fall outfit: Sweaters tucked into slim-fitting skirts. Her post reads: 'Hey boss sorry I’m three hours late I was trying to figure out how influencers tuck giant sweaters into tiny skirts.' Her tweet, liked 237,000 times so far, proved that countless people have also been wondering the same thing. But, ask and you shall receive, as all it takes is to tuck the sweater upward into your bra strap. See my video tutorial below.

How to prevent tight runs with hairspray - I am the queen of ripped tights, but I learned that if you spray them with hairspray they won’t rip. To be completely honest I don’t know why it works, but I learned this when I was studying costume design in undergrad, and now I never have ripped tights, unless I’m going for a grudge look.

Depilling sweaters with a razor - Best way to depill an old sweater is by going over it with a woman’s shaving razor. Works like a charm. Every single time!

Red wine trick - White wine gets rid of red wine. If you are ever at a party and someone spills red wine on you, all you need to do it blot the area with some white wine. BUT remember blot DO NOT SOAK. It will take away the stain completely. It’s successfully worked for me many times.
